Salman Khan birthday special: 5 things we like about Bollywood’s Charismatic Khan

Salman Khan birthday special: 5 things we like about Bollywood's Charismatic Khan
It’s difficult not to like Salman Khan, even with his court cases for poaching and drunk driving that killed a pavement dweller. Even with his brawls and his public tiffs with his girlfriends, and in spite of his dumbass acting in some dumbass movies. We still love him. And on the Dabangg Khan’s 49th birthday (he was born on December 27, 1965), we tell you exactly why we do. Here are five qualities we love about Salman Khan:
The Dabangg Salman Khan
Dabangg 2 Salman Khan
Yes, we keep calling him after his hit movie’s title because he literally rose like a phoenix in 2010 to deliver a hit – Wanted – after several back-to-back flops. Critics had written him off completely, and fans were getting tired of him. Just then, he reinvented himself through his South Indian film remakes like Wanted and Dabangg. And fans were more than happy to lap it up. Salman mania was at it again.
The Best Buddy Salman Khan
Salman Khan, Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan
Whether to Aamir Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Sajid Nadiadwala, or to countless other industrywallahs and friends from other fields, Salman never gives up on them. He has even stood by once best friend and now rival Shah Rukh Khan and almost made up with him again after some impromptu hugs on Eid or at an awards function.
The Ladies Man Salman Khan
Sangeeta Bijlani and Aishwarya Rai with Salman Khan
Salman had issues with his ex-girlfriends Aishwarya Rai (Bachchan) and Somy Ali – he had allegedly got violent with both of them. But after having moved on, he has never spoken ill of them in public.
Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan
Salman Khan continues to help his other exes Sangeeta Bijlani and Katrina Kaif, however heartbroken he is, and made peace with the Bachchans as well.
The Large-hearted Salman Khan

Salman has always been known to be big on charity. His Being Human Foundation is a recent phenomenon, possibly created to build a positive image after his court cases were eating print space and air time. But random acts of generosity, much like a king, is what Salman is famous for.
The Witty Salman Khan (He’s not at all dumb!)
Salman Khan on Bigg Boss 8
And you thought only Shah Rukh Khan was witty? Salman Khan has proved on TV shows like 10 Ka Dum and Bigg Boss that he does not lack wit. Well, Shah Rukh is indeed witty, sometimes in a very intellectual way that you think Salman cannot be ‘cos he is too goofy. But watch out. Salman is not as dumb as he projects himself to be and at times we’re caught unawares with his wit.
Here’s wishing Salman Khan a very happy birthday!

Salman Khan's Jai Ho: Aligarh group to boycott Salman's film

A youth group has decided to boycott Bollywood star Salman Khan's forthcoming movie " Jai Ho" for taking part in a musical extravaganza in Saifai in Uttar Pradesh.

Members of the Youth Initiative for Peace and Harmony (YIPH) condemned both Salman and Madhuri Dixit for participating in the "Saifai Mahotsav", held in the village of Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav.

Salman, Madhuri defend Saifai performance

The group said it was a pity the actors went to the show when the Uttar Pradesh government was not doing enough for victims of the communal riots in Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh.

But the YIPH, however, welcomed the donation of Rs.25 lakh from Salman to the JN Medical College.

Jasim Mohammad of YIPH told IANS that Mulayam Singh Yadav should not have held the "Safai Mahotsava" this year and Salman and Madhuri Dixit should have not attended it showing "some sensitivity to human values".

Mohammad said the YIPH would boycott the film "Jai Ho".

Mr. India 2 actor Salman Khan

His rival Shahrukh Khan has done it in quite a few films- be it ‘Darr’, ‘Anjaam’, ‘Baazigar’ or ‘Duplicate’. SRK has convincingly played the villainous role in the above-mentioned films in his career. And now it appears that it is his arch adversary Salman Khan who is gearing up to get under the garbs of a dreaded villain.

There have been sufficient talks and reports about the making of Mr. India 2- the sequel to the hit film from the 80s. However, nothing has yet materialised as the film is still to go on floors. A miffed Anil Kapoor (who was the lead actor in Mr. India) has also vented his disappointment and his anger at brother Boney Kapoor for not giving the green signal to the sequel. But now it seems that things are silently falling into place and the film may pretty soon go on floors. Reports are once again doing the rounds that Salman has been finalised to play the negative character in the sequel (it was late actor Amrish Puri who had immortalised Mogambo in the original).

The lead actors would be played by Anil Kapoor and Sridevi. Salman’s Dabangg character had shades of grey in it. And it seems that his Dabangg success has injected confidence on the producers to cast him as the bad man.

Who says it’s a dry year for Salman Khan fans?

Salman Khan fans are in for a surprise as a bundle of good news awaits them.

According to DNA, Sohail Khan has dismissed rumours of no Salman Khan movie releasing in 2013 by saying that he is racing against time to release his upcoming movie ‘Mental’.

Since Mental had been slated for January 14, 2014 release, rumours of a Salman-less 2013 had been doing the rounds.

However, Sohail’s statement seems to have set the record straight.

“Why do you want my film to be delayed? Hopefully, we`ll be releasing it this year. But I am not rushing. I`ll come when I`m ready,” Sohail said.

On the other hand, a Mental crew member said “We are currently shooting for a three-week schedule in Lavasa near Pune. This schedule goes on for another two weeks. Salman bhai is keen that the film release this year. He has told Sohail bhai to ensure there is no delay.”

“We are going to release it this year. Salman bhai won`t have it any other way,” the source added.

We hope Sohail and Salman succeed in coming out with ‘Mental’ in 2013.
